Dear Family,

I want to invite you and your spouse to join us on a Spiritual growth journey called Life on life. Life on life was founded by Dr. Richard Bush, Director of Coach Training for the C&MA.

What is Life on life?
“…Only God can write such a letter. His letter authorizes us to help carry out this new plan of action. The plan wasn’t written out with ink on paper, with pages and pages of legal footnotes, killing your spirit. It’s written with Spirit on spirit, His life on our lives!” –
MSG 2 Cor. 3:6

Dr. Bush, my mentor and friend who developed Life on life coaching, describes it this way, “Life on life coaching is participating in the work God is doing in the life of another believer; that is, joining another’s journey to assist in calling forth God’s eternal plan in his or her life.” In the last five years, I have had the privilege of being part of two cohorts of Life on life. I first went through it as a participant, and the second go around has been to become certified to lead a group. The Lord has poured deeply into my life through Life on life. It has been powerful in helping me Biblically interpret the events of my life, helping me address hindrances to my effectiveness as a leader, and giving me much guidance, peace and rest in my Lord Jesus.

How long does it take?
There are 9 sessions with your cohort over 3 years. Yes, it sounds like a big commitment. But “Spiritual transformation is slow, incremental, with others and for others” (Richard Bush). You really need the time between sessions for good, healthy patterns to develop and proper understandings to be reached.

Format:

·It is a cohort format of learning together, supporting one another and sharing together.

·There is a maximum of 10 couples, including Annie and I (absolutely no exceptions; once 9 couples sign up, the cohort is closed).

·Couples learning together is the best format. If you are single, or if someone wants to do this alone, we can accommodate it; but if you are married, I strongly recommend doing this with your spouse.

·Each cohort stays together and learns and grows together for a period of 3 years. There are 9 retreats over 3 years, which will be held at Beulah Beach. The retreats have a sequential order, and they build on one another; so your participation at all of them is the design.

What’s involved?
Each retreat will start on Friday evening. It will continue through Saturday and end on Sunday at noon. Those of you who are preaching or teaching will need to take Sunday off. I am happy to talk with your Elders if there is any concern about this. The retreats will be an opportunity for God to pour into your life and for you to enjoy Him in a whole new way. This, in turn, will powerfully affect your life and ministry. It is a very good investment for the church to support this training for their Pastor and wife. The Elders of the church need to understand that this is leadership development by attending to your souls. Please let me know if they have additional questions. The topic for each session and additional information can be found by clicking here.Participants can also be certified to lead groups if they so desire. Requirements for certification are also on the website.

Who can apply to join a cohort?
C&MA Official Workers, International Workers, and Ordination and Consecration candidates who are current with their requirements. Lay persons within C&MA churches may be considered if they meet qualifications. It does not matter how new you are to the faith or how long you have walked with the Lord, He has some way that He wants all of us to grow deeper in intimacy with Him.

Cost forEACHretreat:
$150 per individual/Weekend
$275 per couple/Weekend

·Includes private cabins

·6 meals

·All retreat materials and training

The first session is scheduled forSeptember 14-16, 2018at Beulah Beach in Vermillion, Ohio.

·There will be three sessions in 2019

·Three sessions in 2020

·Two sessions in 2021 (completed in spring)

Schedule:

·Friday -- arrive by 5pm, dinner at 6pm

·Saturday -- full day

The application deadline is July 5th, 2018 @ 5:00 p.m.. This is a hard deadline with no exceptions. Admission to the cohort is selective, and it will be on a first come, first serve basis. To complete an application, click here. The access code is gldcma.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you and are excited about walking alongside of you as the Lord does His shaping work in your life through this process.

In Christ’s love,

Thomas George
